The President spoke at 8:01 p.m. in the East Room at the White House. In his remarks, he referred to Malia and Natasha ``Sasha'' Obama, daughters of President-elect Barack Obama; Arlene Howard, mother of Port Authority Police officer George Howard, who was killed at the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001; Dr. Anthony ``Tony'' Recasner, principal, Samuel J. Green Charter School, New Orleans, LA; and Julio Medina, executive director, Exodus Transitional Community, New York, NY. The Office of the Press Secretary also released a Spanish language transcript of this address.
