Southern California Edison Company Notice of Filing

December 5, 1997.
    Take notice that on December 3, 1997, Southern California Edison 
Company (SoCal Edison), filed an amendment to its application in the 
above-referenced proceeding. The amendment identifies the purchasers of 
SoCal Edison's generating stations at which reliability must-run units 
are located. The purchasers are:

    Any person desiring to be heard or to protest said filing should 
file a motion to intervene or protest with the Federal Energy 
Regulatory Commission, 888 First Street, N.E., Washington, D.C. 20426, 
in accordance with Rules 211 or 214 of the Commission's Rules of 
Practice and Procedure (18 CFR 385.211 and 385.214). All such motions 
or protests should be filed on or before December 15, 1997. Protests 
filed with the Commission will be considered by it in determining the 
appropriate action to be taken but will not serve to make

the protestants parties to the proceeding. Any person wishing to become 
a party must file a motion to intervene. Copies of this filing are on 
file with the Commission and are available for public inspection.
