II. Background Under the provisions of the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995 (44 U.S.C. chapter 35), the NRC recently submitted a request for renewal of an existing collection of information to OMB for review entitled, ``Financial Protection Requirements and Indemnity Agreements.'' The NRC hereby informs potential respondents that an agency may not conduct or sponsor, and that a person is not required to respond to, a collection of information unless it displays a currently valid OMB control number. The NRC published a Federal Register notice with a 60-day comment period on this information collection on April 1, 2021, 86 FR 17216. 1. The Title of the Information Collection: Part 140 of title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations (10 CFR), ``Financial Protection Requirements and Indemnity Agreements. 2. OMB Approval Number: 3150-0039. 3. Type of Submission: Extension. 4. The Form Number, If Applicable: Not applicable. 5. How Often the Collection Is Required or Requested: Annually, and on occasion, as needed for applicants and licensees to meet their responsibilities called for in Sections 170 and 193 of the Atomic Energy Act of 1954. 6. Who Will Be Required or Asked To Respond: Each applicant for or holder of a license issued under 10 CFR parts 50 or 54, to operate a nuclear reactor, or the applicant for or holder of a combined license issued under 10 CFR parts 52 or 54, as well as licensees authorized to possess and use plutonium in a plutonium processing and fuel fabrication plant. In addition, licensees authorized to construct and operate a uranium enrichment facility in accordance with 10 CFR parts 40 and 70. 7. The Estimated Number of Annual Responses: 208. 8. The Estimated Number of Hours Needed Annually To Comply With the Information Collection Requirement or Request: The total reporting and recordkeeping burden is 753 (727 hours reporting + 26 hours recordkeeping). 10.
